Bridges
An adaptive reuse project
Bridges was a semester long project aimed at adaptive reuse of the Richardson-Olmsted complex, building 13. My partner, Emily DiMarco and I focused on building a space that encouraged community and gathering.
Placing four lightwells placed along the perimeter of the building created a total of six bridges that connect the lightwells and the ground floor public and private space. These spaces are envisioned as places where residents may sit and view the sunset with a friend, collect for a coffee in the mornings, or read a book in the afternoon sun, just outside their unit.
